Our client wanted to cut costs across the organization in several categories. They piloted reverse auctions and then decided that they wanted reverse auctions to be an integral part of their procurement tool-kit. They looked at several providers and chose our eAuction technology for its functionality and the option of further support from Electools’ experienced eSourcing managers.

Leveraged buying of batteries and stationary:

Situation:

This client and two others wanted to source batteries and stationary at a similar time. However requirements were not identical but were sourced from the same supply market.

Action:

Electool worked with each client to combine their requirements into a single specification. Electool then identified appropriate suppliers and invited them to the reverse auction. A special supply contract was drawn up allowing all buyers to make an independent sourcing decision whilst benefiting from negotiating together.

Results:

Client got access to additional cost saving opportunities (leveraged buying) through working with Electool.

Cost reduction of more than 23% achieved. This is significantly more than any one could have achieved on their own.
