Our client was a German based company with joint ventures across Europe. The industry sector and the company were facing significant cost pressures and need to cut costs within tight time-scales. Electool was selected to help because of our flexibility and expertise.
Situation:
One product was a cd player which had traditionally been sourced for marketing purposes. The client wanted to find global sources of supply that could meet their requirements at a significantly lower cost.
Action:
Electool identified capable suppliers globally and invited them to participate in a reverse auction. Working with the buyer, we helped to structure the requirements so that all suppliers had the necessary information to clearly identify their costs and their best proposal. We then ran a reverse auction involving 5 suppliers from Europe.
Results:
The client saved more than 43% on a spend of more than 15 million HUF.
